Excited for November!

I have officially had the biggest and one of the most important doctor's appointments that I will ever have... the gender ultrasound! I now know that I will be having a little BOY at the end of November! His name will most likely be Connor Dean Ard and he will be the most loved baby ever. Everyone is so excited to meet him. However, I have to wait for 19 weeks(ish) to meet him. Time is just moving a little too slow.

In other news, Joe is having his finals week! And then, we just have one more semester left in Rexburg! In August, we'll get to visit our families, which will be so fun. At the beginning/middle of August, we will be going to North Carolina to Sunset Beach to hang out with my parents and possibly my brother. Then at the end of August, we get to drive up to Kennewick to visit Joe's siblings for the infamous sibling reunion! So much fun stuff happening, and then I get to go back to work with some new special needs students. I'm so excited to go back!

I think that's all of the new news in the Ard household. Thanks for reading :D

Well, the biggest thing that has happened since my last post is that I have been able to announce that I am pregnant!!! We will be welcoming our first child into the world on November 21st this year. We are so excited for our addition to the family. Our first ultrasound was at 17 weeks, so we should have been able to find out the gender. However, baby must not have been expecting that kind of ultrasound, because he/she did not cooperate. Here is our ultrasound... I'm not sure why it turned on me. I uploaded it right.
BABY!

Notice the pelvis? There is a little smiley face that you can see. It's a little bit of a creepy face, but it still looks like a face. You can see the outline of a brain. When we were getting the ultrasound, we could see a better picture, but we didn't get that particular picture. On July 11th, we are having our official gender ultrasound, so hopefully I will have more to report.

Hope you enjoyed the update!

It's been a while

Well, it's been a while since I've posted, so I figured it was time for an update.

Rexburg weather is the weirdest thing ever! It was in the 60's, then the 30's, and now it's in the 50's and sunny. I swear, the weather has turrets syndrome.

Valentine's day happened. Joe and I kept the tradition of watching Hitch. We started the tradition in February of 2009, and it has been kept ever since.

I have been subbing for Sugar City every week for a while now! It feels great to have some consistency. On the 12th, I will officially be full time in Sugar City because one of the ladies is going on maternity leave. So, I will have a job for the rest of the school year as well as next year until we move, hopefully.

My brother's birthday happened! He was still at training, so all I could do was text him. We actually had a really nice conversation, which hasn't happened in a while. I'm really proud of him for going through with his plan to be a Marine. I really miss seeing him, though. I haven't seem him since December of 2010.

I think those are the major events that have happened since February 8th. OH YA! And that big Mario blanket that I was making has turned into a Zelda blanket. Joe changed his mind on me, so it was a good thing that I was still working on the skin color. That's all for now!

Craftiness

I am SO proud of myself! I have been doing more crafty projects around the house to take up the free time in my life. Because I am just substituting, free time is rampant at the moment.

My biggest project at the moment is making a blanket for Joe. It's going to be a crocheted afghan that looks like an 8-bit Mario (the one that looks like it's made up of a bunch of squares... refer to the picture). It takes 252 squares... and I have made about 6 of the squares so far. Maybe this will have to be a Christmas present. hahaha.

Another project that I have been able to do is to make a jewelry board to hang up in my room. The earrings can hang up on the fabric, and the hooks will hold some necklaces. I made the whole thing myself, and I'm pretty proud of myself.
And last, but not least, I made a menu for Joe and I to use. It really didn't take long, and I bought most of the supplies at Dollar Tree (frame, crayon boxes, and clothespins). The papers that I used are ones that I already had. What can I say? I'm a teacher, and I have some cute stuff just WAITING to be used!
Well readers... what should I do next? I am open to suggestions. One of the only things that limits me is that I do not have a sewing machine. We need a few more things in our apartment before we can think about getting a sewing machine. If you are on pinterest, follow me and we can share ideas!

Feeling Accomplished

Well, I have officially finished student teaching! I finished on January 27, 2012, and I am going to apply for my teaching certificate in Idaho. Then, it's on to substituting until Joe graduates and we move to Tennessee. That should be this coming December. I love being in Rexburg, but I am excited to move back home and enjoy the warmth.
I have also started to do some crafty stuff that I have found on pinterest, which is pretty exciting. I am taking a week off of teaching because I have been student teaching since August 15th. Therefore, I have been able to do some things around the house. I love being able to do stuff, but I get lonely around the house. I'm excited to get back into the real world. YAY!
There isn't really anything else new to share, for anyone who actually follows my blog. Except to say that I am going to try and be better about updating this blog.

TEACHER BLOGS!

There is an amazing giveaway on the blog Life in First Grade, and I really want it! I'm student teaching, and I want to have fun new ideas for when I actually start teaching in my own classroom. I seriously spent 8 hours on teacherpayteacher.com on Saturday because I am desperate for resources. hahaha.

It's Been a While!

Well, since 2008, I'm further in school, been married for 6 months, and lived life to it's fullest! I'm now almost a senior in college and Joe is a junior. We love life and are ready to be done with school. I guess it's bad to get senioritis when we're not that close to being done. Oh well! I'll try and write more and make the page prettier. It might have to wait until 2 weeks though, because that's when finals are over. YAY!
